Rajnagar in the District of Kendrapara is the headquarters of Divisional Forest Officer, Mangroves - cum - Wildlife Warden, Bhitarkanika National Park. One has to collect the entry permit from Rajnagar, Khola & Gupti  before entering into the National Park .

Fees are also collected for vehicles & cameras. From Rajnagar, the tourists can approach Dangmal, Krishnapriyapur, Gupti, Ekakula, Habalikhati & other places. Limited number of Forest Department boats are available for hire by tourists from Gupti.

Reservations and accommodations for guest house available at Dangmal, Gupti, Ekakula, Habalikhati can be availed by obtaining reservation from the Wildlife Warden division office at Rajnagar.

Chandbali is another entry point for the National Park.
Asst. Conservator of Forests, Chandbali issues entry permit for the tourists, opting Bhadrak-Chandbali route.

DOs
1. Obtain entry permit before entering into the park.
2. Always use licensed boat : The boat man is your first guide.
3. Observe perfect silence while moving in the Sanctuary.
4. Keep your eyes and ears open to observe nature at its best.
5. Use biodegradable containers to carry your eatables.
6. Carry sufficient drinking water :- you may save somebody's life.
7. If possible carry a binocular to observe birds and other small animals.
8. Use sober dresses that merge with the surroundings.
9. Carry torch light while moving at night.
10. Obey the rules and regulations of the park.
DON'Ts
1. Do not tease animals. It keeps the animal under stress.
2. Do not use blaring musical appliances :- It disturbs the animals.
3. Do not venture out at night. It might be dangerous.
4. Do not cook food inside the park :- It will pollute the environment.
5. Do not go near the water :- there might be a lurking Crocodile.
6. Do not carry firearms and explosives - It is punishable.
7. Do not carry meat and meat products. It is prohibited.
8. Do not pluck flowers, fruits or any other plant parts.
9. Above all, do not use plastic and plastic derivative containers : It may cause health hazard to animals.
